San Diego Women Film Festival – October 5-8, 2006
October 4th, 2006
The San Diego Women Film Festival kicks off tomorrow (October 5, 2006) with a special Festival Kick-Off Party at the Back Room at Luna Lounge.
Now in its fourth year, the San Diego Women Film Festival is hosted by the San Diego Women Film Foundation. Its mandate is to empower young and grown women through positive media. The films will be screened in Balboa Park, at the Museum of Photographic Arts and the Centro Cultural de la Raza.
Short films from around the globe have been clustered together to create thematic programs, and will be screened throughout the Festival. This year’s programs include: Dirty Pretty Things; Crafts-fem-ship; Homegrown Heroines; Mother Lode and No!.
This year’s Film Festival premieres the Official Sundance Selection Come Early Morning, starring Ashley Judd. The film marks the writing and directing debut of actress Joey Lauren Adams (Chasing Amy, Mallrats, Dazed and Confused) and is the story of a thirty-something southern woman living in a small-town, rural community.
General Admission tickets to the San Diego Women Film Festival are $10.00 per program. All-Day and All-Access passes are available for $30.00 and $50.00 respectively.
