Balboa Park : December Nights

December 1st, 2006

Balboa Park December Nights

Balboa Park rings in the holidays with its two-day December Nights event. Now in its 29th consecutive year, December Nights welcomes over 250,000 people to the largest free community festival in San Diego.

Stroll around Balboa Park and enjoy the music, entertainment, food and lighted displays. Festival goers will be able to discover the holiday-themed areas around the park; savor food delights at the Holiday Taste of San Diego; tickle their palates at the Beer & Wine Tasting Garden; rummage through craft stalls at Christmas on the Prado; visit a re-created Native American village at My Ancestors’ Village and be dazzled by more than 20,000 lights under the Holiday Light Canopy.

In the spirit of the holidays, visitors are invited to enjoy free admission to all of Balboa Park’s museums and cultural attractions, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on both evenings of the Festival.

With so much to do and see, be sure to arrive early and plan to stay late – this one of a kind event is a family favorite and should not be missed!

Balboa Park’s December Nights 2006 will be held on Friday, December 1 from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Saturday, December 2, 2006 from noon to 10:00 pm.  Free admission to the museums is offered on both nights from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
