American Idol Auditions Kick Off in San Diego

Get ready to bring it, San Diego! The American Idol Season 7 Auditions kick off in San Diego this July.
America’s most notorious singing competition, which has made overnight successes out of relative unknowns such as Carrie Underwood, Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson and the most recent winner Jordin Sparks is starting its search for the next American Idol, and it all kicks off in San Diego.
Auditions for Season 7 of American Idol begin in San Diego on Monday, July 30, 2007 at Qualcomm Stadium. Auditions will then continue to six other cities across the country:
- August 6, 2007 – Dallas, Texas at Texas Stadium
- August 10, 2007 – Omaha, Nebraska at Qwest Center
- August 14, 2007 – Atlanta, Georgia (venue to be determined)
- August 18, 2007 – Charleston, South Carolina at North Charleston Coliseum
- August 22, 2007 – Miami, Florida at American Airlines Arena
- August 27, 2007 – Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at Wachovia Center
Auditions are open to men and women 16 to 28 years old (as of July 28, 2007) who are eligible to work in the United States. Additional restrictions apply.
Season 7 of American Idol premieres January 2008.
