Random Street Fair : Carlsbad Village Street Faire 2008

Get ready for what is considered to be the nation’s largest one-day street fair: the Carlsbad Village Street Faire!
At the Carlsbad Village Street Faire, you can look forward to: 900 vendor booths selling a wide variety of wares, including clothes, accessories, plants, household products, art, antiques and home decor; an international food court featuring more than 50 booths serving everything from Thai to Hawaiian cuisine; a children’s area which will entertain youngsters with rides, games, a super slide, a bounce house, a rock climbing wall, face painting and arts & crafts; a Beer and Wine garden featuring a large screen TV and live bands; a special pancake breakfast; and a Hair and Fashion Show!
Hair and Fashion Show: Hosted by The Body Bar, this event made its debut at last Spring’s Street Faire. It will showcase this season’s hottest hair, make-up, clothing and floral trends based on three themes: Bridal Party, Summer Days and A Night on the Town. All outfits and accessories will be supplied by local Carlsbad vendors and will be modeled by local women, men and children. The fashion shows will take place in the Packard Dental parking lot on Grand Avenue near Jefferson Street at 11:00 am, 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm.
Pancake Breakfast: The pancake breakfast, a Carlsbad Village Street Faire staple for more than 25 years takes place at the Carlsbad railroad depot. Breakfast will be served from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm (noon) and includes pancakes, sausage, coffee and juice. The cost is $6.00 per person.
Parking: With over 100,000 people expected to attend this event, finding parking will be a challenge. Free shuttles will run to and from the Faire every 15 minutes. Shuttles will pick up and drop off passengers at the Poinsettia Coaster Station and the northwest corner of Sears at Westfield Plaza Camino Real.
The Carlsbad Village Street Faire takes place on Sunday, May 4, 2008 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in the heart of downtown Carlsbad, on Grand Avenue from Carlsbad Boulevard to Jefferson Street. The Faire is a free, family event.
