Halloween : The Haunted Trail at Balboa Park

Take a walk on the Haunted Trail; San Diego’s only all-outdoor haunted attraction…if you dare! But beware: Balboa Park’s Haunted Trail is not your typical walk in the Park!
Make your way on a dark, scary trail, past graveyards and ghosts, menacing trees and spooky shadows and be on the look out for frightening haunts that may be lurking in dark!
New this year is the Carnival of Carnage, a creepy Clown Maze that will have you screaming in terror! Try to keep your wits about you as you are chased by the demented clowns in this 3,500 square foot maze. Catch a movie in the Clown Theater or see what pops up in the Maze and try to find your way out of the polka dotted curtain room.
The Haunted Trail awaits you from September 26, 2008 to November 1, 2008. The Haunted Trail is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, except for Monday, October 27 and Tuesday, October 28, 2008, when it will be open.
Hours of operation are 7:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays; and 7:00 pm to 12:00 am (midnight) on Fridays and Saturdays.
The Haunted Trail is located in Balboa Park, just east of 6th and Juniper, next to the Laurel Street Bridge.
Tickets to the Haunted Trail are as follows:
Single Attraction Ticket
- Haunted Trail Only – General Admission - $14.99 per person
- Haunted Trail Only – VIP Admission - $24.99 per person (includes admission to the Haunted Trail PLUS Fast Pass Front-of-the-Line entrance)
Combo 2-Attraction Ticket
- Combo Ticket – General Admission - $19.98 each (includes admission to The Haunted Trail AND the Carnival of Carnage Clown Maze)
- Combo Ticket – VIP Admission - $29.98 each (includes admission to The Haunted Trail AND the Carnival of Carnage Clown Maze PLUS Fast Pass Front-of-the-Line entrance)
Tickets may be purchased online or at the Gate (NOTE: Cash only at the Gate).Discounted Admission tickets are available for groups of 10 or more people. Contact the Haunted Trail at (619) 231-0131 for Group Tickets.
A word of warning: The Haunted Trail and the Carnival of Carnage Clown Maze are not recommended for children younger than 10 years of age. Please exercise discretion when deciding whether to attend. The following warning comes verbatim from the Haunted Trail website:
No pregnant women or persons with heart conditions allowed entrance to this event. Not recommended for children under 10 years of age.
