Christmas 2008 : Festival of Lights at the Wild Animal Park

Celebrate the holidays at the Festival of Lights at the San Diego Zoo‘s Wild Animal Park this Christmas.

2008 marks the 20th and final year that the Festival of Lights will take place at the San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park, as the event moves to the San Diego Zoo in 2009 under the new name “Jungle Bells“.

Festival of Lights at the Wild Animal Park

Stroll through the Wild Animal Park’s Festival of Lights and enjoy the sights and sounds of the holiday season. This family friendly event brings new, larger-than-life lighted displays, new craft activities, a Light Magic Show in Discovery Station, and a Black Light Puppet Show in Benbough Amphitheater.

The crowd pleasing Snow Hill returns for tobogganing fun; Santa will be onsite and ready to confer with visitors young and old; the Winter Princess will spread sparkling cheer; Journey into Africa will run special nighttime tours and special presentations with the Park’s Animal Ambassadors will take place throughout Nairobi Village.

The Wild Animal Park’s Festival of Lights takes place on the following dates:

  • Saturday, December 13 to Tuesday, December¬†23, 2008
  • Friday, December 26, to Tuesday, December 30, 2008
  • Friday, January 2 and Saturday, January 3, 2009

The Wild Animal Park is located at 15500 San Pasqual Valley Road, Escondido, California 92027. The Park opens daily at 9:00 am; the Festival of Lights activities take place from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm (check daily schedule for show times and special appearance times). The Festival of Lights event is free with admission to the Wild Animal Park.
