Apparently nostalgic for the bad old days of pot paraphernalia raids, our law enforcement friends down in San Diego have taken time off from pursuing what seem to be less pressing matters — like, you know, murder and rape and stuff — to bust four smoke shops for selling marijuana pipes. Residents in southern Ocean Beach began Wednesday, June 24, without power. At about 8:30 a.m. one of the many parrots inhabiting O.B. landed on a transformer in the alley between Santa Cruz Avenue and Del Monte Avenue causing it to explode. (San Diego Reader)

On Friday, July 24, a panel on Star Wars: The Old Republic will be held with members of the BioWare development team talking about their plans for the highly anticipated MMO game. Look for a mini-comic based on the game to be given away at the convention and the Lucasfilm booth at the con will be showing the E3 CGI trailer based on the game on their big screen at select times.
