November 11-13, 2011 – Grab Your Girlfriends and Get Your Groove On at the Head to Toe Women’s Expo!
The Head to Toe Women’s Expo returns to the Del Mar Fairgrounds this month, giving mothers, daughters and girlfriends a chance to run wild during a weekend of inspiration, education and entertainment.
The fun begins with exhibits featuring all the luxuries that gals love: apparel, jewelry, handbags, makeup and skin-care products, spa services, health and fitness products, gourmet foods, designer items and services for the home. Add to the mix a fashion show, complimentary wine tasting, a 5K Run/Walk and a chance to win prizes each day, and you’ve got yourself an event to remember!
Pamper yourself with makeovers and facials in Body and Soul City; pound the pavement on Wall Street; hit the Fashion Metropolis and Glitter Sector for some bling; stroll along the Philanthropic Promenade; indulge you taste buds with some gourmet eats in the Culinary Capital; and, get the scoop on what to expect now that you’re expecting at the Baby Bump & Beyond section!
Highlights of this year’s Head to Toe Women’s Expo include:
Girls on the Go 5k Run/Walk (Saturday only) – Scenic and flat course begins at the Del Mar Fairgrounds continues along the San Dieguito Boardwalk & Lagoon Trail. Lively post race party inside the Expo. Feather boa and tiara stops! Grab your girlfriend brigade and register early on www.active.com. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the San Diego County Office of Education Everyone a Reader Volunteer Program.
Cooking and Book Signing by the Pros – The Culinary Stage features San Diego’s finest chefs, including Chef Teiji from the Fish Market Sushi Bar. Chef Teiji will demonstrate how you can get started making Sushi at home. And back by popular demand, Chef Bernard of The Marine Room and The Shores returns to create an original, flavorful selection from the “Flying Pans” cookbook, which he co-authored with Chef Ron Oliver, also of La Jolla’s prestigious Marine Room.
Know Your Health Score – Scripps Health will bring a mobile unit with a variety of health screenings that include blood pressure, body mass index, body fat, and diabetes. On Friday, learn more about the potential patient benefits of the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System and how it provides surgeons with enhanced dexterity, precision and control through patented instruments with a much greater range of motion than the human hand and wrist. Health professionals speak each day on women’s health concerns.
Ralph’s to the Rescue! – Samples and inspiration to create bountiful holiday desserts; bakery and deli items that take the stress out of holiday entertaining.
Free Baby Shower (Daily) – 40 expectant moms will be treated to a baby shower hosted by Scripps Health. Pre-Registration required; check website for details.
Fashion Show & Cocktails – Models take to the catwalk on Saturday for the Head to Toe Fashion Show wearing apparel available at the Expo. Attendees can enjoy complimentary cocktail sample of Dirty Blonde Cocktail.
Free Nail Pampering (Saturday & Sunday only) – Attendees can treat their metacarpal end-caps to a free nail-color overhaul at the Expo’s Luscious Nail Lounge, compliments of Marinello Beauty School.

The Head to Toe Women’s Expo takes place at the Del Mar Fairgrounds located at 2260 Jimmy Durante Boulevard, Del Mar, CA, 92014 on Friday, November 11, 2011, Saturday, November 12, 2011 and Sunday, November 13, 2011. The Expo will be open to the public as follows: Friday from 12:00 pm (noon) to 7:00 pm; Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm; and Sunday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. Tickets to the Expo are available at the door and are $8.00 for adults, $7.00 for seniors, and free for children 12 and under. A discount coupon for $2.00 off is available from the Expo’s website.
