June 8 – July 4, 2012: SD Fair is a Summer Tradition!
You know that summer’s officially begun in San Diego when the Fair comes to town! And this year’s San Diego County Fair promises to be Out of This World!
The 2012 San Diego County Fair rolls into town for 24 days, starting Friday, June 8, 2012 through to Wednesday, July 4, 2012 (the Fair will be closed the first three Mondays, June 11, 18 and 25, 2012, but will be open on Monday, July 2, 2012).
The San Diego County Fair is the largest annual event in San Diego County and the sixth largest fair in the United States, drawing more than 1.4 million visitors annually. The 2011 Fair broke an all-time attendance record for the third year in a row with a grand total of 1,412,113 guests.
This year’s Fair will take San Diego County Fair fans “Out Of This World” to the stars, planets and beyond. Every day at the Fair will be filled with discovery and mystery of the outer limits. The Fair will explore man’s history and fascination with space and space travel starting with the ancient astronomers, to the NASA program and the future of space exploration. Is anyone out there? The Theme exhibit will delve into the unexplained and unexplored. Enter the realm of science fiction, UFOs and other evidence of life beyond earth.
As always, the Fair will have more than 100 food vendors, great commercial exhibitors, thrill rides and attractions, a fun and educational Theme Exhibit, and a fantastic lineup of headliner entertainment with the Summer Concert Series on the Heineken Grandstand Stage, the Paddock Concert Series, the Solid Gold Series, the Rock on Series, great entertainment in the Del Mar Arena, and so much more!
The 2012 San Diego County Fair takes place on the Del Mar Fairgrounds at 2260 Jimmy Durante Boulevard, Del Mar, CA. The Fair opens on Friday, June 8, 2012 and closes on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 (the Fair will be closed on June 11, 18 and 25, 2012). Gates open daily at 11:00 am Tuesdays through Fridays; and 10:00 am Saturdays, Sundays and Wednesday, July 4 2012.
