Free Concerts by Ziggy Marley, Ben Harper, Cake, Ozomatli and More

While the main attraction at the Del Mar Races is, of course, the world renowned Thoroughbred Horse Racing Competition (including a million dollar purse for the winner of the Pacific Classic race on Sunday, August 26, 2012); more and more people are heading to the Del Mar Racetrack to enjoy the events that take place around the races, such as the Del Mar Summer Concert Series. With top bands and world renowned artists taking the stage, it’s easy to understand why the horses are getting a run for their money!
Here is a list of concerts and entertainment scheduled for the 2012 Del Mar Races season:

- Friday, July 27, 2012 – Dashboard Confessional
- Sunday, July 29, 2012 – Tucanes De Tijuana
- Friday, August 3, 2012 – Steel Pulse
- Saturday, August 4, 2012 – Cake
- Friday, August 10, 2012 – The Offspring
- Friday, August 17, 2012 – Michael Franti & Spearhead
- Saturday, August 18, 2012 – Ben Harper
- Friday, August 24, 2012 – Jimmy Cliff
- Friday, August 31, 2012 – Ozomatli
- Saturday, September 1, 2012 – Reggae Festival Featuring Ziggy Marley
- Wednesday, September 5, 2012 – Party in the Paddock (band to be announced)
The concerts in the Del Mar Summer Concert Series are free with racetrack admission purchased prior to the last race; $20.00 if you enter after the final race of the day. All concerts will be held at the Seaside Stage, which is a non-smoking venue. For Friday shows, patrons under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. For Saturday and Sunday concerts, patrons must be 18 years or older to attend. All concerts are standing room only; there are no reserved seats (get there early to get the best spots). Concerts start after the last race of the day.
The 2012 Del Mar Races Thoroughbred Horse Racing season takes place from Wednesday, July 18, 2012 to Wednesday, September 5, 2012. There are no races on Mondays and Tuesdays (the Races will be open on Labor Day, Monday, September 3, 2012). All races take place at the Del Mar Racetrack located at 2260 Jimmy Durante Boulevard, Del Mar, CA, 92014. All concerts are free with paid admission to the Del Mar Races.
