Free Family Art Day at the Oceanside Museum of Art

October 3rd, 2013

October 6, 2013 – Free Museum Admission and Art Activities

At Free Family Art Day, children and their parents work closely in the artistic process designing small works of art that reflect concepts and themes from the exhibitions on view. All art activities and exhibitions on view are free to the public. Projects are designed to engage children of all ages. No art experience is required for the art activities and all supplies will be provided. Healthy refreshments and kid-centric docent tours will be provided.

Head over to the Oceanside Museum of Art (OMA) on Sunday, October 6, 2013, and join in the fun as participants explore landscape art at Free Family Art Day! Using paint, paper, yarn, felt and other materials, participants will create their own landscape: either a two-dimensional painting or collage or a three-dimensional shadow box landscape.

The Oceanside Fire Station 1 will also be holding an Open House on the same day! The street in front of the museum and the fire house will be closed down to offer exciting fire station demos, t-shirt and food sales. OMA will also have a special fire house creative project for the entire family on the patio.

Free Family Art Day takes place at the Oceanside Museum of Art on Sunday, October 6, 2013 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. OMA is located just north of San Diego at 704 Pier View Way in downtown Oceanside, within walking distance from the Oceanside transit center with Amtrack, Coaster, Sprinter and Metrolink stops. For more information about Free Family Art Days and other events taking place at the Museum, visit the Oceanside Museum of Art website.
